Linda Mae Steffan, 78-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born August 24, 1946, in Poplar Bluff, MO, to the late Joe Harvey and Beulah Mae (Hill) Williams.
Linda retired from her position at Vitronic, where she worked as a screen printer. Her focus was always on others, especially her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend-always putting others before herself. Her greatest joy came from caring for her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished. Linda was a great cook, always preparing family favorites and canning garden-fresh vegetables, which was a true reflection of her nurturing and thoughtful nature. Her kitchen was often filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals.
Linda had a light-hearted personality greeting others with an ever-present smile. She had a special way of bringing joy to those around her and never missed the chance to share a good laugh. Linda was also a woman of Christian Faith and especially enjoyed attending gospel singings.
Throughout her life, Linda carried with her the values of family, kindness, and dedication. Her love and compassion leave a legacy in the hearts of her family and friends.
On August 28, 1962, Linda married Robert Steffan in Poplar Bluff, MO. He survives. Also surviving are her daughters, Yvonne (David) Gibson, Bobbie (Mark) Elliott, and Steffany (Danny) Kelly, all of Doniphan; a brother, Buddy Williams of Poplar Bluff, MO; six grandchildren, R. J. Sanford, Davonne Gibson, Amber Elliott, Ashlynn Elliott, Tristan Ponder, and Danny Mitchell Kelly; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a sister, Verna Lee Sinclair, and a brother, Bobby Williams.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, April 28, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Cooper officiating.
