Funeral services for Linda Maxine McCleary, Age 79 of Ava, Missouri will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel in Ava, Missouri with burial following in the Dyer Cemetery, Ava. Family asks that donations be made in honor of Linda to the Dyer Cemetery.
Linda Maxine McCleary, 79 years, 16 days old, passed away on February 12, 2026, at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, Missouri, with her family by her side.
On January 24, 1947, Linda was born in Ava, Missouri, to Mack and Rena Mae (Hampton) Miller. She shared her birthday with her grandfather, John Lock Miller, and her niece, Delayna Dry.
In 1962 Linda and Harold Davis were united in marriage at Linda’s parents home in Ava. They had two sons, Kevan and Kraig.
Linda was a homemaker, and she also worked several years for, and retired from, the Ava Public Schools as a custodian.
Linda was a Christian and attended Basher Church as a child and young adult. Later in life she enjoyed attending Thornfield House of Prayer with her husband, Bob.
Linda and Bobby McCleary were united in marriage on February 6, 1993, in Mansfield, Missouri. Bob recently passed away.
She loved playing the piano at church and family gatherings. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, attending church, and visiting with her friends at McDonald’s. Her biggest joy was being with her family, especially her grandkids. In addition, she was blessed in writing many poems for birthdays and special occasions or just because.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Harold Davis and Bobby McCleary; her son, Kraig Davis; sister, Barbara Breshears.
She is survived by her son, Kevan Davis; step children, Carol Johnson, Allen McCleary, Billie Gail McCleary, Barbara Jo Williams, and Jackie McCleary; 20 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren with one on-the-way; 5 great great grandchildren; her brother, Robert Miller; nieces; nephews; extended family and friends.
