Lyle F. Frisbee is

Lyle Floyd Frisbee was born on May 7, 1949, in the house where he was raised and died on the same farm where he and Marilyn lived for almost 51 years. He was named after 2 of his uncles, Emmett Lyle Frisbee and Glenn Floyd Frisbee, He was an honest little boy. In elementary school several children were throwing rocks on the playground and were sent in to the office and Lyle went too even though he hadn’t been told to, When asked why he was there, he said that he had been throwing rocks too. He was prepping for his future in his early years. As a young boy he built a small log cabin in the woods, He started building with his hatchet. When his mom and dad came to see his progress, they decided he was ready to use an axe. He built a log cabin that provided many happy hours of enjoyment for several neighborhood children. When he started school he decided that his little brother and sister needed to be taught at home by himself so that they wouldn’t have to go to school. That didn’t quite work out but showed his protective nature, Lyle was baptized at the age of 7 by Reverend Branson and grew up at First Baptist Church in Cabool. He went to Cabool High School and graduated in 1967, He went to work for Paul Bennett, his building trades teacher, until he was drafted into the Army. He was stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland, Viet Nam and Fort Benning, Georgia before receiving his discharge in 1972. He came back to Cabool and went to work for Ron McCall in construction. He met a young teacher, Marilyn Kurrelmeyer, the love of his life, and married her in June of 1973 and to this union 2 children were born: Amy Michelle and Andy Joe. 50 years later, their two children took them to the Grand Canyon on one of the best trips of their lives. Lyle started his own business in 1975 and continued until 2009 except for a short time working for Cabool Home Center. He spent 40 years building and remodeling houses all over southern Missouri. After he retired he spent lots of time on his farm raising hay and fishing as well as volunteering his services to his church in various capacities. He made lots of friends along the way. His children call him the greatest dad in the history of the world! Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Tobe and Belle Frisbee, Quinter and Minnie Noland, parents Clay and Mary Noland Frisbee, his brother John Frisbee, his in-laws Herbert and Alvena Brinkmann Kurrelmeyer and his brother-in-law Dan Kurrelmeyer. He is survived by his wife Marilyn of the home, daughter Amy Tajouri and Mehdi of Springfield, son Andy Frisbee and Treva of Fayetteville, Arkansas, granddaughter Hannah Bunch of Springfield and grandson Brenden Bunch of West Plains, sister Quinnetta Howell and Richard of Cabool, sister in law Valora Frisbee of Graff, MO., Sister in law Leona Kurrelmeyer of Hermann, Kelvin and Kathy Kurrelmeyer of Hermann and Janet and Richard Hall of Tyrone, several cousins, many nieces and nephews and friends. Once when asked what he was most proud of in his life he said that he was blessed over the years to teach many young men about building and life through his business. This was a legacy that continues even now.
