Mac Arthur Mitchell, 81 years, 1 month, 13 days old, went home to be with Jesus on June 20, 2023 at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, MO with his family by his side.
Mac was born May 7, 1942 in Goodhope, MO to Ezra and Amy (Nelson) Mitchell.
On March 24, 1961 Mac and Lue Johnson were united in marriage at Goodhope, Missouri. They were blessed with three children, Richard, Cheryl and Cynthia.
Mac started his work career with Marvin Barnes Co. in Ava and then later owned and operated Mac’s Repair. His business was focused on heating and cooling. Everybody knew who to call,…Mac.
He was an active longtime member of the Goodhope Church of the Nazarene. Mac loved Jesus!
Mac also loved working and that was his hobby. He had a great sense of humor. He adored his Lue and all his family!
Mac was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Richard; an infant brother; his sisters, Lavon Lakey and her husband Norman, Laverne Halstead and her husband, Rev. Bob, and Peggy Armstrong and her husband, Jack; brother-in-law, Tom Bingaman.
Mac is survived by his wife Lue; daughter-in-law, Lisa Mitchell; his daughters and their husbands, Cheryl & Pete Beason and Cynthia & David Davis; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one-on-the way; two great great grandchildren; his sister, Polly Bingaman; many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Funeral services for Mac will be Friday, June 23, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Goodhope Cemetery. A visitation will be on Friday prior to the service at 1:00 P.M.
Officiating will be Pastor Sue Clayton and Pastor Buddy Boyd. Family requests memorials to Goodhope Cemetery or choice of charity.
