Michael Roy Sanders, age 63, passed away on December 2, 2025, at his home in Winona, Missouri. He was born on May 24, 1962, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Gilbert Roy Sanders and Patsy Marie (McAdams) Harper.
Michael married Jennifer Hunt on March 11, 1989, in Winona, and to this union, two children were born, Mikee and Salena. He loved his family beyond words.
He was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Jenny, and a devoted father to his son, Mikee, whom he affectionately called “Bub,” and his daughter, Salena, whom he affectionately called “Salena Do.” Michael loved his grandson, Bryce, whom he called “Little Bub,” and his granddaughter, Layna Lynn, whom he affectionately called “Little Blue Moon.”
Michael attended Horner Church where he was saved many years ago and was later baptized in Rocky Falls. He was a Christian and a man of honor.
He worked in road construction all his life and never failed to finish a season. He did a job that he loved, and met and made so many friends along the way. Michael loved his trucking buddies as well as his fellow workers.
Michael loved hunting and fishing, even when he didn’t see or catch anything. He loved his family and being on the river, where he found his solitude and felt truly blessed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Sanders; his son, Mikee Sanders; father and mother-in-law, Clifford and Peggy Hunt; sister-in-law, Millie Osborne; uncles, Glen Phillips, Vicky Phillips, Lindell Sanders, Troy Meyer, Sam Purcell, and Robert McAdams; aunt, Rosemary Vermillion; cousin, Joseph Barnes; grandparents, Luther and Ruby Sanders; and niece, Sandy Bay.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Jennifer of the home; his daughter, Salena Jarvis and husband, Sean of Caulfield, MO; mother, Patsy Harper of Winona, MO; brothers, Mark and Ricky Sanders; in-laws, Craig Osborne of Winona, Tommy Farris and wife, Janet of Winona, Scott Hunt of Winona, and Mike and Kathy Bay of Union, MO; aunts, Dawna Mae Phillips of Mountain View, MO, Sandra Phillips of Winona, Kathleen Purcell of Salem, MO, Donna Autrey and husband, Jack of Mountain View, Linda McAdams and husband, Larry of West Plains, MO, and Barbara McAdams of Winona; grandchildren, Bryce and Layna Borgman of Caulfied; step-grandchildren, Ladden, Tanner, and Lyle Jarvis; and nieces and nephews, Peggy (Kent), Chrystal (Brad), Elizabeth, Ashley, Annjeanette (Josh), Michael (Chrystal), Kelly, Kim, Adam (Malorie), Jammie, Bradley, Crystal, and Casen.
Michael was one of a kind and will truly be missed by all of us.
