Norman Eugene Rush, 77 years, 8 months, 9 days old, passed away to Heaven on October 8, 2021 with his family by his side.
Norman was born January 28, 1944 in Mansfield, MO to Everette and Lois (Bristol) Rush.
He was a graduate of Ava High School. He also served in the U.S. Army and the Reserves for six years, from 1964 to 1970.
In November of 1966 Norman and Sharon Mitchell were united in marriage at McClurg, MO by Sharon’s sister, Rev. Louise Jennings. Together they had three children Terry, Cory and Cassie.
Norman was a true christian and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Ava and he rarely ever missed Sunday School. He also attended Happy Home Church, loving his church family there also. Norman was a people person and loved going out to breakfast and catching up on all the news. He loved sports and was a die hard Ava Bears fan! When he got to where he couldn’t see to drive to the games, he listened to them on the radio. In his younger days he coached little league baseball and softball. One of his greatest pleasures was watching his grandchildren play ball. He drove many miles taking them to practice and delivering food and water to them.
Norman got his first job when he was 15 years old, working at the school. He retired from Walmart after 27 years of service. He also served as custodian at First Southern Baptist Church for many years. He loved going on vacation and traveled to several different states. He was very smart and was interested in many things. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. If his family needed him he was always there for them. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren,
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, and one granddaughter Sydnee Snow, that he never got over missing.
Norman is survived by his wife Sharon of 54 years, his sister Betty Reynolds, his three children; Terry Rush, Cory and Rhiannon Rush, and Cassie Snow; 9 grandchildren; Heather, Cristopher, Kelsea, Brittian, Jadyn, Kiaunna, Taegan, Gage, Maddox and four great grandchildren, other relatives, and a host of friends. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
