Richard Wayne Davis was born on January 29, 1952, in Mountain View, Missouri, to Frank Eugene and Juanita Gertrude (Smith) Davis. He passed away on November 19, 2021, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Juanita Davis; one nephew, Darrin Davis; and one brother-in-law, Steven Farmer.
Wayne is survived by three daughters, Tina Cooley and husband, Shawn, Tracy Crockett and husband, Jim, Trisha Sharp and husband, Nick; one brother, Mark Davis and wife, Beth; three sisters, Glenda Plumlee and husband, Rick, Judy Farmer, Karen Wilbanks and husband, Don; eight grandchildren, James, Brenda, Zach and wife, Shawna, Ryan, Kian, Rogan, Steven, and Gavin; and four great-grandchildren, Liam, Grayson, Hudson, and Peyton.
Wayne dedicated his life to Christ as a child and was baptized as a teen at youth camp. He continued his walk with Christ throughout his life.
Wayne drove a truck for Pepsi-Cola Company and retired after thirty-eight years. He loved staying busy, whether it was working or visiting with family.
He was a big collector of old cars, “Hillbilly” Mountain Dew bottles and Pepsi memorabilia. He enjoyed playing guitars and listening to Elvis. He also enjoyed woodworking, in which he made a lot of items for his family.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, with Pastor Robert Medley officiating. Visitation was held Monday, November 22, 2021, from 6-8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment was at Grace Cemetery, Mountain View.
