Ronald “Red” Stubbs will be interned with his late wife, Myrna L. Moore Stubbs also of Lebanon, Missouri who passed on November 14th, 2019 at the Age of 80. Service will begin at 2:00 PM in The Stubbs Cemetery, Mountain Grove, Missouri. Burial will follow.

1957. On December 13, 1958, in Miami, Oklahoma, she married Red Stubbs. While he served in the Navy, Myrna served as Ombudsman, supporting Navy families. She later worked as a real estate agent in Lebanon, Missouri. She was known for her fabulous cooking, beautiful gardens, love of reading, and traveling with Red.

Red was born in Mountain Grove, Missouri, to Hershal B. and Ruby (Ussery) Stubbs. He served 21 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1975 as Chief of the Boat aboard the USS Greenfish. After retirement, Red and Myrna bought a farm east of Lebanon where they raised registered Angus and Brangus cattle and put up hay. Red later worked as maintenance supervisor at Marathon Electric and rewired American Embassies abroad. A lifelong learner, he loved American and Native American history, especially the Lakota, and enjoyed fishing, camping, and visiting national parks with Myrna.

Married for over 60 years, they built a life of love, hard work, and family. Myrna passed in 2019, Red in 2025, at his daughter’s home in Auburn, Maine. Red was preceded in death by their son Brian Douglas Stubbs (2023).

They are survived by daughters Laurie Elliott (husband Kip) of Auburn, Maine, and Jennifer Stubbs of Port Orange, Florida; grandchildren Madison (Tanija), Isaac, and Kinsey; great-grandson Oliver Reese Covey; and many dear family and friends.
