Timothy Eugene Nicks, (AKA, Uncle T), 72 of Mtn. Grove, MO left this life on June 6, 2025 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital. He was born September 29, 1953 at Fort Belvior Virginia Army Base to Gilbert Eugene and Betty Ann (Rasco) Nicks.
Timothy was baptized into Christ at the Hamilton Church of Christ in Hamilton, MO, in June 1967. Him and his dad went together to be baptized that night. He was a member of the Cameron Church of Christ in Cameron, MO. He was a member of the Mountain Grove Church of Christ, Mountain Grove, MO where he served the Lord for many years. He took turns teaching the older kids, plus many other duties. He would tell me different members would bring him food to eat. He said he never had to worry about going hungry. The members took great care of him.
Tim entered the Navy after graduating from Cameron R-1 High School in 1972, where he served 14 years. He worked in the Sea Bees part of the Navy to which he was very proud. He was stationed at numerous bases during his time served. He had made rank of E6, Petty Officer First Class and Master welder.
Tim enjoyed working with his hands building various items which some included; bird houses, lamps, welded metal art work, book cases, stand up pantries/cabinets, coffee tables, end tables, etc. He also enjoyed painting on canvas. Plus The last few years he worked as a handyman helping anyone he could. He truly enjoyed talking to people.
Tim was a very loving son, brother, uncle, dad and friend. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Eugene Nicks and his son, Jeremy Brown, both of Mountain Grove, MO. He is survived by his mother, Betty Strain and his stepfather, Charles Strain of Caulfield, MO; two brothers, Danny Nicks of Mountain Grove and Danny Strain and wife, Janice of Caulfield, MO; three sisters, Cindy Stewart of Mountain Grove, Bobby Jo Vincent and husband, Carmon of Caulfield, MO and Rebecca Strain also from Caulfield, MO; two nieces, Meranda Stewart of Macomb, MO and Luada Worrell of North Carolina; great niece, Allana Stewart of Macomb, MO; two nephews, Danny Nicks Jr. and Gilbert Nicks both of North Carolina; as well as numerous other great nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all. LOVE YOU !!!!!!
