Team USA stayed unbeaten in the 2026 World Baseball Classic thanks in part to a big swing from Aaron Judge.
Judge hit a two-run home run during a five-run inning that helped power the United States to a 5–3 win over Mexico in a key Pool B matchup in Houston. The Americans jumped out to a 5–0 lead, and strong pitching — including several scoreless innings early — helped them hold off Mexico’s late comeback attempt.
Paul Skenes got his first Team USA start in the WBC and was lights out. He allowed just one hit and struck out seven hitters over four innings (60 pitches).
The victory kept Team USA perfect in pool play and put them in a strong position to move on to the knockout rounds of the international tournament.
Next up: the U.S. will face Italy, another unbeaten team in the group, in a matchup that could determine who finishes first in Pool B.
