Alex Palou Becomes The First Spanish-Born Driver To Win The Indy 500

Alex Palou became the first driver from Spain to ever win the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday.

Palou, who drives for Team Penske got into the lead with 16 laps to go and never trailed for the rest of the race.

His win gives Team Penske 20 wins in the Indy 500, which is a record. Palou’s Indy 500 win is his fifth of the year after winning four of his first five races of the season.

Marcus Ericsson finished second in the Indy 500 while David Malukas finished third.
