Zizzers Open Season with Two Wins at Ozarks Baseball Classic

The West Plains Zizzers opened their baseball season over the weekend at the Ozarks Baseball Classic in Harrison, Arkansas. After a tough Friday night loss to Pea Ridge, the team rebounded with back‑to‑back wins on Saturday.

In the early game, senior Landon Montgomery delivered a strong performance on the mound, going five and a third innings with 11 strikeouts and no earned runs as the Zizzers defeated Belton 5–2. Ryan Montgomery led the offense, while Caleb Loges and Zeke Cunningham closed out the game, with Cunningham earning the save.

Later that afternoon, the Zizzers topped Providence Academy 7–2. Ryan Montgomery started game two, allowing just four hits and no earned runs over five innings. Keenan Holloway powered the offense, going two‑for‑four with a single, a triple, and three RBIs. Kam Ernst and Jesse Contreras came in for relief to secure the win.

The Zizzers return home Tuesday for their season opener against the Mountain View-Birch Tree Liberty Eagles at 4:30 p.m.
