Angels 5, Cardinals 1

The Cardinals gave up four runs in the top of the first inning during a 5-1 loss to the Los Angeles Angels at Busch Stadium. Steven Matz fell to 0-and-4 after surrendering four runs on six hits in five innings of work. Andrew Knizner drove in St. Louis’ only run in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Cardinals remain in last-place in the NL Central at 10-and-20. Miles Mikolas will try to help snap the Cardinals four-game losing streak when he takes the mound against the Angels tonight.

The Cardinals are now 0-10 in series openers
