The Blues lost 3-1 to Colorado Tuesday, a result that hurts their playoff chances while the Avalanche clinched the Central Division and top seed in the West. St. Louis was outshot 17-3 in the first period and fell behind 2-0 before Robert Thomas scored late in the second. Thomas now has six goals in his last four games. Joel Hofer made 34 saves in the loss. Colorado added a short-handed goal early in the second, their second of the season. The Blues will try to rebound Thursday night when they host Winnipeg in their next game.
