Grill leads the Tigers in community service hours this season, participating locally in Columbia as well as his hometown of Wichita, Kansas. Grill has volunteered his team at the local Children’s Hospital, visiting and spending time with patients throughout the year. He also helped support Boys & Girls Club of Columbia by participating in its annual Sneaker Ball in October.

Back home in Wichita, Grill volunteered his time with Wichita Public Schools by participating in Reality U, a program designed to put children in realistic adult situations so they can properly prepare for future scenarios. Grill has also written Thank You and Good Luck notes to Veterans and local school children throughout his time at Mizzou.

A two-time team captain, Grill leads Mizzou with 14.4 points per game this season, ranking 18th nationally with a 3-point clip of 42.6 percent.

The SEC Community Service team recognizes the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition. This marks the 27th year for the team for men’s basketball as well as for women’s basketball. All 22 league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men’s and women’s sports being chosen from 1999-2003. The SEC began this concept with a football Community Service Team in 1994.

Grill and the Tigers return to action on Saturday, hosting Kentucky on Senior Day in the regular-season finale. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. on ESPN.
