Red Sox 3, Royals 1
The Royals capped off their homestand with a second straight loss. Kansas City fell to the Boston Red Sox 3-1 in the series finale of a three-game set at Kauffman Stadium. Kansas City scored their lone run on a Boston throwing error in the third inning. Starting pitcher Seth Lugo was charged with his fourth loss as the Royals dropped to 24-and-18. They visit the Houston Astros tonight.
Cardinals 6, Nationals 1
The Cardinals completed the series sweep after blowing out the Nationals 6-1 in their finale from DC. Miles Mikolas earned the victory after striking out five over five-plus frames. Lars Nootbaar led off the game with his sixth home run of the season. St. Louis has now won eight straight games to improve to 22-and-19. The Cardinals send Matthew Liberatore to the mound against Philadelphia tonight.
