Jack Flaherty tossed a gem to lead his Cardinals past the Marlins 3-0 in Miami. Flaherty earned his sixth win after striking out five and scattering nine hits over six-and-two-thirds scoreless innings. Nolan Arenado broke a 0-0 tie with a solo home run in the top of the sixth, and St. Louis added a run in both the seventh and eighth innings. Jordan Hicks picked up his sixth save as the Cardinals avoided a four-game sweep. St. Louis remains in last place in the NL Central at 36-and-51. Jordan Montgomery starts for St. Louis against the White Sox tonight.
