Willson Contreras led the Cardinals to a 5-1 victory over the Athletics in interleague action in St. Louis. Contreras went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to lead St. Louis at the plate. Nolan Gorman also had a strong day, going 3-for-3 with a solo homer. Starting pitcher Matthew Liberatore earned his seventh win after striking out seven through five-and-a-third scoreless innings. JoJo Romero recorded his seventh save as the Cards improved to 70-and-71. St. Louis hosts San Francisco tomorrow.
