Cardinals 7, Twins 3

The Cardinals slugged four home runs off of Joe Ryan during a 7-3 win over the Minnesota Twins at Busch Stadium. Tyler O’Neill, Jordan Walker, and Lars Nootbaar all took Ryan deep in the second, Alec Burleson homered in the third to lead St. Louis to victory. Dakota Hudson improved to 2-and-0 after giving up three runs on two hits in seven innings. The Cardinals have won two of three, but they remain in last place in the NL Central at 48-and-61. Matthew Liberatore starts for St. Louis against Minnesota tonight.

(St. Louis, MO) — Brendan Donovan’s season is coming to a premature end. The Cardinals utility man had right elbow surgery yesterday and will miss the rest of 2023. The 26-year-old hit .281 with 11 home runs and 34 RBI in 95 games this season. He’s expected to recover in time for Spring Training in February.
