The Kansas City Chiefs were back on the practice fields at Missouri Western in St. Joseph Wednesday for the ninth training camp practice and the fourth one in full pads. The team worked for just over 90 minutes in full pads on a cloudy, mild and breezy morning. Head coach Andy Reid thought it was a solid workout after the team had a day off on Tuesday
Corner L’Jarius Sneed was held out Wednesday with knee soreness. Punter Tommy Townsend was limited with an ankle sprain. Defensive tackle Turk Wharton was back at practice after being on the PUP list to start camp. Kadarius Toney, Mike Danna and Jody Fortson are still out. The Chiefs are back to work on Thursday.

Kansas City Chiefs receiver Justyn Ross sustained several injuries during his time at Clemson. He missed his junior season in 2020 after surgery to repair congenital fusion in his spine. The Chiefs signed Ross as an undrafted free agent last year, and he had to sit out 2022 after foot surgery to repair a stress fracture. Now, Ross has made a name for himself in training camp with several highlight reel catches and increasing reps with the first-team offense.
Ross says this camp has very much been a day-by-day approach.
Patrick Mahomes has noticed Ross’ talents and work ethic.
The Chiefs completed their ninth training camp practice on Wednesday and are back at it on Thursday.

The intensity of this year’s Chiefs training camp in St. Joseph has already made headlines, especially the clip of Travis Kelce taking a swing at linebacker Jack Cochrane (Cock-rin).
There’s been a handful of other scuffles at camp – perhaps more than a typical year. Head coach Andy Reid has said he doesn’t mind it too much. In fact, he likes when players have, what he defines, as an edge.
Patrick Mahomes has enjoyed the passion on the field and the respect his teammates have for each other off of it .
