West Plains High School is excited to host the 2025 volleyball Showdown Tournament at the West Plains Civic Center on Saturday September 13 with games starting at 9:00 a.m. there are 12 teams this year in the showdown. Like year past there will be pool play first and there is 3 pools RED West Plains, Mount Vernon, Highland and Salem Mo. White pool Liberty, Marshfield, New Covenant Academy and Central. Black pool Mtn Grove, Blair Oaks, Summersville and Rolla. There will be select games aired on The Fox 969.
The Hammer (Jim Jones) Memorial Individual 18-hole golf tournament Saturday Sept 13th at the Willow Springs Thomas F Benyo Municipal Golf Course tee time is 11am. Cost is $60 dollars. The West Plains Zizzer Cross Country team is lacing up for more than just races this fall they’re hitting the ground running with their annual Trash Bag Fundraiser! From now through September, middle school and high school athletes will be working hard off the course, selling rolls of high-quality trash bags for just $14 each. Delivery is set for later in September, just in time for fall cleanup. Orders can be placed through any MS/HS cross country athlete.
