Evangel University President Dr. Mike Rakes announced the hiring of Sam Jones as the 15th baseball coach at Evangel. Jones is a two-time state champion head coach at Denver Christian High School where he amassed a record of 76-22. His teams reached the Elite Eight in all four seasons and are coming off back-to-back Colorado State Championships in 2023 and 2024 while also earning Colorado High School Coach of the Year honors.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterbacks and rookies reported to the campus of Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph on Tuesday. Mahomes, his fellow quarterbacks and the Chiefs’ rookies will undergo three days of practices as Reid ensures his first-year players get a necessary refresh on the playbook before adding veterans to the mix. Those veterans are due to report to St. Joseph on Friday.
