University of Missouri men’s basketball coaching legend Norm Stewart took his place among the most notable residents of Missouri last Wednesday, becoming the 50th person inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians. Serving as head coach of Mizzou from 1967 to 1999, Stewart led the Tigers to new heights on the basketball court. He guided MU to 634 wins, eight Big Eight regular-season titles (1976, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1987, 1990 and 1994), six Big Eight Tournament crowns (1978, 1982, 1987, 1989, 1991 and 1993) and 16 NCAA Tournament bids.

Zizzer Golf Districts Sam Gohn and AJ Stevenson earned all-district in Class 4 District 3 golf at Carl Junction. Sam, AJ, Ashby Wood, and Karmi Lopez qualify for State next week. The Zizzer team proudly secured 5th place overall.

 

Mountain View / Birch Tree Liberty Eagle John Collins has accepted a scholarship offer to join the Esports team at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff, MO where he will be majoring in History. John intends to further his education at SEMO after completing his degree at Three Rivers, where he plans to major in Archaeology and Anthropology.

The Willow Springs Lady Bears are class 2 district 4 champions after defeating Ava last night in the district championship game 4-2. The Lady Bears will play the winner of district 3 on Tuesday May 14th.
