Grizzlies come out of The Holiday Break On Fire & Break Winning Streak Record on Wednesday Night

The Missouri State West Plains Grizzly Basketball Team came back from the holiday break on fire as many longed to see Grizzlies break their record for longest winning streak set back during the 2017-18 season. And they did as they blew the Link Year Lions from Branson, Missouri out of the water with an impressive Final score of 131-52. The Game taking place on the home court of The Joe Paul Evans Arena @ The West Plains Civic Center.

1st Quarter: #24, Dassiah Green with the first shot of  the game for the Grizzlies. And after a trip down the floor, Green also gets the first trip to the throw line making 0-2.

Link Year gets the ball for their first possession and loses it. Ball goes back to the Grizzlies but turned back over. 

However Link Year makes yet another turnover and a two pointer by #14, Gustav Blaudenfeldt. Rebounded and put in for three by #1, Tyrell Smith as Grizzlies take a 5-0 lead.

A foul call and Link Year finally scores the first points at the free throw line by Guard Cam Washington for the Link Lions. 

Lead jumps out to 12-2 for the Grizzlies as Smith shoots two more threes. To the Grizzlies advantage, Link Year is the first to draw blood in foul trouble.

Next three point play by Malakai Lindsey who gets the next set of possessions for Grizzlies as they jump out to a 22-6 lead with under 13:11 to go. 

#20, Javon Barbee goes to the line on the next Link Lion foul and shoots 2-2 after a wide open layup. Grizzlies now with a 25 point lead with 12:30 to go. 

Cam Washington for Link Year returns to the line as so far, he is the Lions leading chance in this ballgame as he makes two more to make it 25-8

By Seven ½ mintutes to go, the game has bounced out to nearly the same momentum as the blowout NEO Matchup before the break. Grizzlies now have seven three pointers and all of the main shooters are out on the floor. 

Grizzlies have a few fouls, but not enough in the match so far to cause any issues. 

The exceptional athleticism shown throughout the Grizzlies gives them a 62-27 lead at the Half. 

2nd Quarter: Grizzlies start out in a zone defensive to start the second half as they force out another turnover by the Link Lions. Shaun Glass on fire to start the half as he is not only guarding but shoots eight points, two of these three pointers as it’s now a 70-30 lead. 

Dassiah Green also rounding out scoring as the game goes on as well as Ace Evans. Evans doing a great job overall on rebounding and putting shots that continue to fall short. 21 points on the night so far for the 6’2 guard.

Throughout the rest of the game, The Grizzlies continue on perhaps the largest offensive run seen all season. They win the ballgame by a Final of 131-52. 

Grizzlies now officially breaking the record for the longest winning streak since the 201-2018 season

Grizzlies will enter into Region 16 play on Saturday night as they will travel to The Fitzsimmons-John Arena at Moberly Area Community College to take on The 15-1 Moberly Greyhounds. This Game will kick off @ 4PM with the Broadcast on 102.5 Hot Country KDY.
