The Royals failed to pull out a win in their series opener against Cleveland. Kansas City lost to the Guardians 2-1 at Kauffman Stadium. Dairon Blanco scored the lone run on a night where the Royals were limited to two hits at the plate. Scott Barlow was charged the loss and his second blown save after he gave up the game-winning runs on a two-run double in the top of the ninth. Kansas City has lost three of four and sits at the bottom of the AL Central at 22-and-57. The Royals return to the diamond against Cleveland tonight.
