All of the area teams in action Friday night came away with victories and advance another round in hopes of state titles.
In Class 4 West Plains dominated Carl Junction in all phases of the game and they came away with a 36-6 win to move into a matchup at Hannibal, MO on Friday night in the State Quarterfinals. Both teams are 9-2 on the year.
Class 3 Mountain Grove faced the Clever Blue Jays and they move on after they get the win 28-21. They will host Seneca on Saturday at home, both teams are 10-1 on the season, Seneca is ranked number 2 in Class 3, Mountain Grove ranked 3rd.
The Class 2 Liberty Eagles cruised to a 55-6 win over a Forsyth team who was on a roll to end the season. Liberty running back Jaren Rutledge rushed for nearly 300 yards and the defense shut down Forsyth’s high powered offense. They move on to face an old nemesis in Lamar in Mountain View on Saturday at 1:00.
In Class 1 the #1 state ranked Thayer Bobcats host the #2 ranked Marionville Comets and Thayer moves on after a convincing 42-21 win. They will now host #3 Tipton on Saturday at home.
Arkansas
6A -Mountain Home beat Sheridan 78-42 and move on to face Benton in round two.
3A-Salem, AR beat Fouke 54-7 and will now face Newport in round two.
