The West Plains Lady Zizzers played their next to last home game this past Monday night, February 23rd, 2026 from West Plains High School as they took on The Hillcrest Lady Hornets.
1st Quarter: Tip won by The West Plains Lady Zizzers. Three off the mark and no good by Shaylee Peterson but picked up by Zoe Scharnhorst. Ball kept.
First shot good at the baseline by Gillian Green. Ball stays with The West Plains Lady Zizzers and Gillian scores again. Wide open three is good as Junior Averie Gerald shoots for West Plains.
Another right wing shot by Senior Camryn Summers for Hillcrest and The Lady Hornets take a 5-4 lead. Green tries to get a look at three on the rebound but a foul and Somphmore Sa’nya Johnson shoots two for The Lady Hornets.
Taken back by West Plains and Ainsley Mcwilliams with a quick layup shot. Back to Mcwilliams again off the hands of Scharnhorst for Three and now an 9-7 lead by The Lady Zizzers.
A backdoor pass on the rebound by The Lady Hornets is good by Sa’nya Johnson. Back to West Plains and another three for a 12-9 lead by Shaylee Peterson.
Foul call over the back on Gillian Green for West Plains. She stays in the game. And another three by Junior Serenity Johnson ties the game at 12.
West Plains picks off their third team foul on another push off. Finally open three by Zoe Schrubb, the third three of the quarter which makes it a 15-12 ballgame.
Foul on Delani Wahome and Camryn Summers goes to the line for The Lady Hornets as both throws are no good.
Rebound West Plains and another three by Ainsley Mcwilliams. An 18-12 game with 1:13 to go. A shot on the rebound by Junior Lillie Moore for The Lady Hornets but taken back for another jump shot by Ainsley Mcwilliams.
Foul on Alyssa Bryson for Hillcrest and ball goes back to West Plains as Mcwilliams tries for the last shot, but doesn’t make it.
Lady Zizzers lead 20-12 at the end of one.
2nd Quarter: Mcwilliams with a jump shot to start the quarter but a foul and Sa’nya Johnsonfor Hillcrest shoots two.
Left wing shot for three points by Gillian Green, 25-14 the lead with 5:50 to go for The Lady Zizzers.
Hillcrest on the rebound and Averie Gerald scores on the easy jump shot. Hillcrest by nine, 25-16.
Ball stays with Hillcrest after it stays out of bounds. And a three by Averie Gerald cuts the lead to six.
Ainsley McWilliams on the rebound for West Plains with a three and back to a nine point lead. Johnson loses the ball on the next shot for Hillcrest and picks up a foul. Ball goes back to West Plains.
Lillie Moore with the next shot for The Lady Hornets. Lucy Hafer takes the ball back for West Plains and passes to Green. Air ball and it will go back to Hillcrest. Left corner three and rebound taken away by West Plains and Ainsley Mcwilliams tries for a three. Holding foul on Alyssa Bryson for Hillcrest.

Lucy Hafer shoots 1-2 on the foul for Hillcrest. Ball to Hillcrest; partial block and ball taken away by Ainsley Mcwilliams for West Plains. Rebound Delani Wahome for West Plains and scores from seven feet with 1:35 to, 31-21.
Shaylee Peterson fouls out as Sa’nya Johnson goes to the line shooting two for Hillcrest, makes 1-2. She gets the rebound, tries for the three but falls short. Ball back to West Plains; Lucy Hafer with the Basketball and passes to Zoe Scharnhorst who shoots and ball goes out of bounds.
A runner by Lucy Hafer is good straight on from eight feet away.

3rd Quarter: Hillcrest spreads out their zone. But first shot is good from the post by Gillian Green. Hillcrest loses the ball on the rebound and another three by Mcwilliams. A sixteen point game for West Plains. And another bucket, the first after a near steal by Zoe Scharnhorst
First three for Hillcrest by Serenity Johnson. Hillcrest keeps it but back to Lady Zizzers, Lady Zizzers turn the ball over.
Another three after Hillcrest turns the ball over again by Ainsley Mcwilliams, 41-25 with 5 ½ minutes to go in the quarter. Pass out front nearly stolen but put in by Lucy Hafer just before Hillcrest got their hands on it.
Wide open three by Zoe Shrubb as West Plains holds at a sixteen point lead, 46-29. Two free throws on a foul fo West Plains by Sa’nya Johnson for West Plains.
Wide open three missed by Zoe Schrubb but chased down by Lucy Hafer. Ball stole twice by Sa’niya Johnson who sets up the offense, also leading scorer with nine points. Ball lost again and back to West Plains.
Foul on the play by Zoe Shrubb and two more free throws by Serenity Johnson. Ball back to West Plains but lost. Shot off board by Lillie Moore.
Rebound West Plains and banked off by Zoe Shrubb. Zoe Scharnhost steals it back and scores off the wing. 50-33.
Bryson on the rebound for Hillcrest. Lady Zizzers lead, 50-35 at the end of three.
4th Quarter: West Plains picks up their next team foul. Some tough defense played by Hillcrest. Junior Khloe Jones shoots the first bucket of the Quarter for Hillcrest. Ainsley Mcwilliams with the rebound, bucket, and a foul. AInsley with eleven points in the game.
West Plains still leads by sixteen. Serenity Johnson shoots and scores on the other end, ball is taken back by Mcwilliams. Mcwilliams passes to Zoe Shrubb for three.
Back to Gerald for Hillcrest who fouls Lucy Hafer. Ball lost again and a three to make it a twenty point lead, again by Zoe Schrubb.
Foul on Caitlin Summers for Hillcrest sends Zoe Scharnhorst to the line for 1-2. Taken down by Hillcrest, a three by Gerald is no good. Ball taken back by Gillian Green who shoots and scores her eleventh point. 62-39 the score.
Ainsley Mcwilliams passes again to Zoe Scharnorst and a 2-3 break sends her back to the line for two more tries. This time she makes both.
Turnover by Hillcrest and back to West Plains. Shaylee Peterson goes high off the board for her thirteenth point. Hillcrest spreads out to a matchup defnese which gets them a steal and another bucket by Serenity Johnson.
Johnson fouled and Ainsley Mcwilliams scores 1-2 at the line. Shaylee Peterson tries the rebound and putback but fought for and put in by Gillian Green. Bryson for Hillcrest scores the other way, rebound West Plains.
