The West Plains Lady Zizzers as well as The West Plains Zizzer Boys Basketball team traveled to Mountain Home, Arkansas on Monday Night. Both teams playing a border war per tradition for the month of December.
A hard fought match for the Lady Zizzers, though turnovers proved to be an obstacle in some parts of the game; The Lady Zizzers improve their season record to 7-2 as they prepare for a busy Post Holiday Pink & White Classic, trip this coming Weekend and coming week.
1st Quarter: Tip controlled by The Lady Bombers and the bucket is up and good by #10 Brooke Fischer with a follow up by #4, Lauren Rauls. And early 5-0 lead for The Lady Bombers as Lady Zizzers try to setup their offense.
Finally a three pointer by Ainsley Mcwilliams for the Lady Zizzers to make it 7-3. Rebound Lady Bombers as they continue to plague the Lady Zizzers with their offense. Lady Bombers try to get inside the post and another the first two pointer and third bucket of the night for The Lady Bombers by #33, Livi Fosness.
Gillian Green rebounds the ball for the Lady Zizzers and forces the first turnover for the Lady Bombers as she scores a two to make it a 9-5 ballgame.
Bombers try for another bucket but turn it over once more as Ainsley Mcwilliams scores the second three of the night for the Lady Zizzers.
Lady Zizzers make their sixth turnover as the ball goes down to #2 Brooklyn Mitchell who scores another three to make it a 13-8 game.
A regrouping after a minute long time out as Mcwilliams shoots the last bucket to make the game 13-12 at the end of one, a terrific thirteen pointer.
2nd Quarter: And early 15-15 tie as Fosness shoots a good three pointer, followed up a three by #3, Jayla Yonkers both for Mountain Home.
Mcwilliams and Senior Zoe Scharnhorst stay in the paint for the Lady Zizzers as they keep the offensive pressure, Mcwilliams making her third three pointer on the night and the first bucket of the night for Scharnhorst.
Lady Bombers keep allowing Mcwilliams to score some easy three and not guarding her as the Lady Zizzers jump out to a 22-19 lead with under 4 minutes to go. Five threes in the second quarter here.
It is not until 2:22 to go in the Quarter that both teams have turned over the ball, now a 25-21 lead and now another three by Mcwilliams, now 28-21 with just under two minutes to go.
Rebounded by Brooklyn Mitchell for the Bombers lost out of bounds. Put back in by Mcwilliams and now the Lady Zizzers have their biggest lead on the night on top 30-21 over Mountain Home.
#33 Livi Fosness with her sixth point on the night as she brings the Bombers back to trial by eight. But rebound with a good two pointer by Lucy Hafer.
Lady Zizzers try to play for the last shot but the ball is lost out of bounds.

3rd Quarter: Takes a minute or two for the first shot but finally taken by #2, Brooklyn Mitchell for Mountain Home. Rebound West Plains and a good three by Zoe Scharnhorst.
After an entire First half without free throws, West Plains sends both Lucy Hafer and Ainsley Mcwilliams to the line as the Bombers has racked up some fouls early in the second half.
Livi Fosness makes her first bucket of the second half and brings up a three point play as now fouls have evened up for both teams. Fosness make 2-3 as Lady Zizzers now trail by five as she keeps the ball on the rebound. Fosness has cut in drastically to the Lady Zizzer lead. Bomber offense clearly has a plan by this point in the action.
Rebound, shot up and good by Ainsley Mcwilliams to shoot the Lady Zizzers back ahead. Taken back on the rebound by Yonkers for the Lady Bombers to cut the game by three.
Foul call on the Bombers as Shaylee Peterson goes to the line for the first time on the night. Peterson makes both as West Plains is 5-6 at the line in the second half.
Gillian Green goes to the line in the Final 1:30 of the second quarter. 2-2 at the linne for green, West Plains leads by five, 44-40. Twelve turnovers for The Lady Zizzers. Seven for the Lady Bombers.
Shaylee Peterson rounds out free throw shooting for the Lady Zizzers as she makes 1-2, now 45-40 the lead for West Plains.
Zoe Shrubb with the last shot of the 2nd Quarter, a three and her fifth point on the night.
West Plains Lady Zizzers ahead 47-40 at the end of three.
4th Quarter: West Plains Lady Zizzers make their thirteenth turnover as this game continues to be very close.
Jayla Yonkers makes her seventeenth point on the night for the Lady Bombers. Lead has now been cut to six.
Bad pass as the Lady Zizzers nearly lose it. Finally, back to a seven point game with a good two pointer after a high post shot from the Bombers by Brooklyn Mitchell.
Ainsley Mcwilliams makes her sixth three of the night, now cut to a nine point game as the ballgame nears the final three minutes.
Reverse pass to Gillian Green as she makes the next shot, Bombers trail by eleven.
Game closed out at the free throw line as Lady Zizzers try for a few passes. Left-handed shot is no good by Lucy Hafer but picked up by Zoe Scharnhorst.
A turnover and picked up by Fosness for the Lady Bombers who passes to Brooklyn Mitchell who scores on the easy left hander.
Lady Zizzers look to try to end the ballgame from the foul line as the last shots are good by Ainsley Mcwilliams.
