The West Plains Lady Zizzers played in their first round of the Class 5 District 6 Tournament on Monday Night as they faced The (3-23) Central Lady Bulldogs.
Lady Zizzers start off strong as Gillian Green knocks in two threes and several free throws to take an 8-0 start.
Ainsley Mcilliams the second shooter on the night scores on a two. First points for The Central Lady Bulldogs by Analise Freeman who shoots three points on the first foul for The Lady Zizzers.
For about three minutes, Lady Zizzers go through a cold spell and foul again as Freeman for The Lady Bulldogs goes back to the free-throw line to be 4-4 on the night
And after giving up ten, Freeman scores again after a low block. But several more blocks and Lady Zizzers remain cold up until Green gets the ball on a pass from Zoe Scharnhorst making it a 12-3 ballgame.
Gillian Green scores again in the last minute, ½ of the Quarter after Annnalise Freeman for Central shoots three more.
Lady Zizzers lead 14-7 at the end of one
2nd Quarter: A three by Ainsley Mcwilliams as well as two at the line by Shaylee Peterson.
Lady Bulldogs do not score until a foul call and Freshman Samantha Githeya shoots two. But Lucy Hafer fouls Githeya and shoots two. A block and Ainsley Mcwilliams shoots a three to match the point total from the two teams’ matchup during The Pink & White Tournament. Zoe Schrubb scores five points in her start for the night as she makes it a 21-10 ballgame with under 4 ½ minutes to go.
Central goes cold for the last several minutes as they are pressured more turnovers by The Lady Zizzers.
HALFTIME- West Plains Lady Zizzers: 28/ Central Lady Bulldogs: 10
3rd Quarter: Ainsley Mcwilliams and Shaylee Peterson are first two to score for The Lady Zizzers in the Second half as Peterson scores two threes and a trip to the free throw line.
Central Lady Bulldogs have 21 turnovers with 6, ½ minutes to go as Githaya tries to pass but loses the ball. Same predicament happens with Senior, Annalise Freeman who fouls out of the ballgame.
Peterson scores two more three pointers as Central has not scored at all up. This until 2 ½ minutes and Indira Green scores off a pass and the three pointer of the night for The Lady Bulldogs.
Abigail Hilt for West Plains scores a three as well as another three by Ainsley Mcwilliams before the Quarter ends with The Lady Zizzers leading 60-15.
4th Quarter: A 5-0 run to start as Jewlia Willard scores on a three as well as a layup shot to make it a 65-15 ballgame. Freshman Charli Willard scores off a pass from her sister with under 5 minutes to go.
Peterson and McWilliams continue shooting threes for West Plains with luck. The only points scored in the rest of the ballgame are for Central from Freshman Samantha Githeya who shoots on the one team foul by West Plains.
Lady Zizzers win the ballgame by a Final Score of 70-18
