The Liberty Eagles played in their final game of the week, Hosting the 10-12 Houston Tigers for the night of Hoop Queen.
Hoop Queen Winner: Victoria Sabado
1st Quarter: The Houston Tigers control the tip as ball is passed to DJ Riley. Liberty plays a 1-3-1 defense. Carter Ellett makes a steal for Liberty tries for a floater shot which is no good.
Houtson tries for another crack on defense as they take the ball back. Taken back and Ellett makes the first three pointer and points on the board.
Finally a three by DJ Riley for the Houston Tigers is good. But rebound and a two pointer by Parker Tune, Liberty leads 6-2.
Parker Tune does this again as Houston tries to fight for it back. A foul on Houston and Tune completes the play at the free throw line.
Houston continues to dominate on defense but not making much effort for a bucket as it is stolen back by Parker Tune again for another three. Parker’s brother Alex keep the ball on the rebound as Alex Tune scores on the easy jump shot. Eagles lead, 10-2.
A foul on Dylan Shelton for the Houston Tigers, the fourth team foul for The Tigers as Parker Tune shoots two free throws.
Houston tries for a three on the rebound. One tried by DJ Riley falls short but the ball stays with Houston. Cooper Holden on the rebound for Liberty who shoots a long three off a backdoor pass. Cooper’s first three on the night for Liberty.
A foul on Liberty as Caden Guerra goes to the line shooting two for Houston.
At the end of one, Liberty leads by a score of 20-3
2nd Quarter: First for points in the quarter scored by Blayne Altermatt. Guerra scores for Houston on the first rebound. Liberty continues to play a consistent offense, but do end up turning over the ball once as Freshman, Griffin Aaron makes a three.
Rebound and a three by Paxton Hunter makes it in for Liberty. Liberty fouls and Gavyn Daily for the Tigers goes to the line, shooting two.
Foul as Houston tries to make a steal on the Liberty rebound and a free throw is made at the line by Paxton Hunter as Liberty leads 32-10 with under three minutes to go in the half.
A long three on the rebound is good as Carter Ellett passes to Paxton Hunter, making it 35-10.
Parker Tune with another three after Caden Guerra loses the ball after a three attempt for Houston with just under 1:20 to go.
HALFTIME- Liberty Eagles: 38/ Houston Tigers: 14
3rd Quarter: Houston Tigers start the second half on a 5-0 run as Liberty makes at least three turnovers. Gavyn Dailey with an easy jump and a three pointer by Dillon Shelton. Shelton scores again on the third rebound.
Finally a three by Parker Tune, as Liberty goes up 41-19. Rebound as Paxton Hunter stays with the Basketball and scores after Houston loses the ball out of bounds.
Gaviyn Daily makes another two as Houston keeps forcing turnovers on Liberty. A three follows as Liberty throws the ball away again by Dillon Shelton.
Karson Mccain on the rebound as the ball stays with Houston and as he scores on a baseline jumper as well as at the line as Liberty makes another foul.
Houston does manage to foul once on the next rebound from Liberty with under 40 seconds to go.
At the end of three, Liberty maintains the lead, 43-27.
4th Quarter: Gavyn Dailey with two more points for The Houston Tigers. Liberty still is facing some inconsistency on defense.
Blayne Altermatt shoots and scores on a three as they get a clean break as well as another jump shot on the rebound by Draydon Wells.
Both teams have eight fouls a piece with 6 1/2 minutes to go in the ball game.
Paxton Hunter is able to score on the next loss by Houston. But a foul sends Caden Guerra to the line two more times as Liberty makes two more team fouls.
Rebound and another three by Parker Tune. Taken back by The Tigers as Gavyn Daily scores on the fadeaway. Liberty gets the ball back and Blayne Altermatt goes up and in for three more for the Eagles.
A foul on Liberty sends DJ Riley who has yet to score in the ballgame to the line, making three free throws.
Rebound and putback shot by Paxton Hunter who completes the play at the line, making two additional free throws.
Foul on Liberty and Griffin Aaron goes to the line. He makes 1-2 with under 2 ½ minutes to go in the ballgame.
Liberty fouls again trying to steal the ball back. Griffin Aaron goes back to the line again, 1-2.
Titus Jester with the next baseline jumper and three point play for Liberty. With 30 seconds to go Houston turns the ball over as-
