Two Missourians Indicted In National Cattle Contract Scheme

A man and woman from Missouri are among five people indicted in a $220 million nationwide fraud scheme, involving cattle purchase contracts.  US Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Ryan Raybould says Joshua Link of Stafford and Tia Link of Smithton, Missouri are facing wire fraud and money laundering charges.  Both are accused of wiring more than a half million dollars to buy property.

The US Attorney’s Office in northern Texas says thousands of investors, ranchers and others in the cattle industry across the country were victimized by the scheme.  Those indicted, are accused of using false promises to lure in prospective clients, and then misusing their clients’ funds, to enrich themselves. 

The FBI is looking for Joshua Link of Missouri, who remains a fugitive (as of 2/13/2026).  The FBI is asking anyone who knows of Link’s whereabouts to contact authorities.  The others indicted in the case include:  Tia Link, of Smithton, MO, Jed Wood of Fort Worth, Texas, Royanna Thomas of Arlington, Texas and Taylor Bang of Kildeer, North Dakota.
