Men’s Basketball Hosts No. 21 Georgia Tuesday

The Mizzou men’s basketball team returns home for the first of two games at Mizzou Arena this week. The Tigers open by hosting Georgia for an 8 p.m. tipoff on Tuesday night on SEC Network.

ABOUT THE TIGERS
• Missouri owns a 13-5 overall record in 2025-26 and a 3-2 mark in SEC play.
• The Tigers are a perfect 11-0 at home this year, including SEC wins over Florida and Auburn.
Mark Mitchell leads MU with 17.3 points and 5.3 rebounds, while ranking second with 3.2 assists.
• Overall, five Tigers are scoring in double figures with Jayden Stone (15.2), Jacob Crews (11.6), Trent Pierce (10.4) and Anthony Robinson II (10.3) following Mitchell’s lead.
• Robinson also leads the Tigers with 3.9 assists per game, while Shawn Phillips Jr. has a team-best 1.5 blocks per game.
• Mizzou is scoring 81.2 points during the 2025-26 campaign, while allowing 72.2.

• Georgia owns a 15-3 overall record in 2025-26 and is ranked No. 21 in the AP poll and No. 22 in the coaches poll.
• The Bulldogs are 3-2 in SEC play after earning a 90-76 win over No. 17 Arkansas Saturday.
• Georgia is led by Jeremiah Wilkinson with 17.9 points, while Blue Cain is second with 14.3 points.
• Somto Cyril has a team-best 6.1 rebounds with Marcus Millender leading Georgia with 3.7 assists.
• The Bulldogs are averaging 96.0 points per game with a scoring defense of 76.2.

SERIES HISTORY
• The Tigers own a slight edge in the all-time series over Georgia, 12-10.

STONE NEARS 1,000 POINTS
• Graduate student Jayden Stone enters Tuesday’s game within reach of a career milestone.
• Stone has accumulated 992 points in his career and is now just eight shy of scoring 1,000.
• Stone would become the third active Tiger to reach the mark – joining Mark Mitchell (1,470), Jevon Porter (1,177) and Jacob Crews (1,128).

STONE HEATS UP
Jayden Stone should have no problem reaching 1,000 points Tuesday considering his recent form.
• Stone has scored at least 20 points in three of the last four games. During that span, he is tallying 19.5 points – shooting 60.0 percent overall and 47.8 percent from 3-point range.
• Overall, Stone is averaging 15.2 points – shooting 59.6 percent overall and 43.4 percent from three.

HOME SWEET HOME
• Mizzou owns one of the top home-court advantages in the country over the last two years.
• Since the beginning of the 2024-25 season, the Tigers are 29-2 at Mizzou Arena.
• Mizzou’s 29 home wins during the last two years are the second-most in the nation, behind only George Mason with 30.

DEFENSE LEADS TIGERS
• Mizzou has been led by its defense early in SEC play this season.
• In five conference games, the Tigers are allowing only 74.0 points per game. Mizzou currently ranks first in SEC games only in scoring defense.
• In 18 games overall, Mizzou has allowed 72.2 points per game, ranking fifth in the SEC.

• The goal on the offensive end for the Tigers this season is simply to score 72 points.

• Overall, the Tigers are averaging 81.8 points during the 2025-26 season – tallying 87.9 points in their 13 wins and 63.6 in their five defeats.

ROBINSON KEY TO SUCCESS
• The player that the Tigers need to get going if they hope to win is Anthony Robinson II.
• Robinson is averaging five more points in wins and shooting more than 20 percent better from the field. He also tallies twice as many turnovers in losses.
• Overall, Robinson is averaging 10.3 points and 3.9 assists per game in 2025-26.

MR. VERSATILE, MARK MITCHELL
Mark Mitchell has led the charge for Mizzou and has started the season on an elite level.
• Mitchell is averaging a team-best 17.3 points and 5.3 boards, while ranking second with 3.2 assists.
• In fact, he is one of only 10 players in the nation tallying 17 points, five boards and three assists.
• The last Tiger to average 17 points, five boards and three assists was Big Eight Player of the Year Anthony Peeler during the 1991-92 campaign.
