The St. Louis Cardinals lost the rubber match of their three-game series against the San Diego Padres 7-3 at Petco Park yesterday. The Cardinals surrendered four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Nolan Gorman, Lars Nootbaar, and Jordan Walker all drove in runs in the losing effort, while Andre Pallante was charged with his eighth loss after allowing two runs on five hits in five innings. The Cardinals dropped two of three in the series.
The Cardinals continue their West Coast road trip when they begin a series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Cardinals are in fourth place in the NL Central with a 56-57 record. St. Louis sends Sonny Gray to the mound this evening. First pitch is at 9:10PM.
