The Royals have now lost four straight games. Kansas City fell to the Tampa Bay Rays 3-0 at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals were limited to three hits and went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position. Starting pitcher Michael Wacha was tagged with his sixth loss after striking out nine batters and allowing three runs through six frames. Tampa’s Drew Rasmussen allowed two hit and two walks while striking out five over five innings.
The Royals have scored two or fewer runs in 13 of Wacha’s 16 starts this season. The Royals are now 38-and-42. They host the Rays again this afternoon.
