The Kansas City Royals scored six runs in the top of the fifth during a 10-7 win over the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The Royals trailed by five entering the inning before taking the lead for good. Bobby Witt Jr. hit a home run and four RBI, while Nick Loftin also went deep. Steven Cruz picked up his second win in relief. Kansas City has won two of three. Nolan Gorman and Alec Burleson each went deep in the losing effort, while Steven Matz was charged with his second loss out of the bullpen. St. Louis has dropped three of four.
Jac Caglianone made his Major League debut going 0-for-5. In his first at-bat he drove a ball to the right-center gap that was chased down by Victor Scott who covered 92 feet to rob Caglianone of a double.
