The Royals opened their series against the Rays with a 3-1 victory in Tampa. Michael Lorenzen was credited with the win after striking out four batters over six innings. Freddy Fermin went 3-for-4 with one RBI and closer Carlos Estevez recorded his eighth save. The Royals have won seven of eight to sit at 15-and-15. They visit the Rays again tonight.
