The Royals jumped out to an early five-run lead and held on for a 5-4 victory over the San Diego Padres at Petco Park. Salvador Perez drove-in a pair of runs, while Matt Duffy, Nate Eaton and Bobby Witt Jr. also brought home a run in the win. Kansas City starter Brady Singer earned the win after allowing four runs, two earned, through six frames. Scott Barlow recorded his fifth save of the season as the Royals improved to 13-and-31. They will wrap up their three-game series in San Diego this afternoon.
