The Royals picked up a win over the Angels, but have been officially eliminated from playoff contention. Kansas City defeated Los Angeles 8-4 in the series opener in Anaheim. Maikel Garcia was 3-for-4 with one RBI and three runs scored, while Adam Frazier and Bobby Witt Jr. finished with two RBIs apiece. Starting pitcher Cole Ragans earned his third win after striking out 10 batters through five innings of two-run ball. The Royals are third in the AL Central at 79-and-78.
