The Zizzers were Conference Champions on Saturday at Lake Springfield as they competed in the Ozark Conference Championships for the last year. The Lady Zizzers were a close second to Team Champion Bolivar.
Saturday was a good day for the West Plains Zizzers. All the kids ran really tough on a true cross country style course. There was some shifting of positions in the boys race but that’s ok. That’s how good teams operate. When one spot slips back someone else steps up. This boys team has ran really strong all season long – only time will tell if we will be great as a team in the end. They have tons of potential if we will rely on the power of the pack. The Lady Zizzers are a small yet hardworking group of girls. The amount of improvement among this team is huge over the course of a year. It’s going to be super important for them to bring their best race to the district meet and secure their opportunity to compete at the state meet. They can do it. They have put in the work.
The JV also competed on Saturday in Springfield. We are proud of them. So many do them are knocking on the door of the Varsity and making big improvements. The JV team is what pushes the Varsity to be better.
The team is off from competition this week and will compete at Districts in Nixa on Saturday October 28th.
