Cabool won the tip to start the game. Willow stole it and got a quick 2 points to take the lead. Willow was looking to have a game like the lady bears the previous night and have a dominant performance. The bears hit a 3 on their next possession taking a 5-0 lead. The bears got double digit points in a quick fashion still leaving Cabool scoreless. Cabool called a timeout to try and slow down Willow’s momentum, but that was a rough task to accomplish for Cabool. Cabool finally got on the board, but it was 20-2 whenever they scored. The 1st quarter ended 29 – 9, with willow showing complete control. The second quarter was no different. Willow put in some of their younger players to get some good varsity experience. The game slowed down but that didn’t mean Willow stopped scoring. Willow just kept getting bucket after bucket. Cabool started to play better in the second quarter, their offense started to capitalize more and got more chances. The halftime score was 46 – 16, with Willow still comfortably on top.
The second half opened with a missed 3 from Cabool but Willow went down the court and scored a 3. Willow was on fire from 3-point range in the game. The shooting was very consistent. Cabool was getting into the zone and started getting consecutive buckets. The 3rd quarter ended 63 – 29, Willow still untouchable. The 4th quarter opened with another three from Willow. Cabool was doing a good job not turning the ball over too much like they did in the first half. The turbo clock was activated in the 4th quarter, signaling that the game was coming to an end fast. Even though time was running out, Willow did not stop scoring. But they did let the time go out in the final seconds. The final score was 77 – 39, with Willow walking away with a great win on senior night.
