- LOUIS – Missouri State running back Jeremiah Wilson was named Missouri Valley Football Conference Performer of the Week, the league announced Tuesday (Oct. 20).
In Saturday’s homecoming showdown with Central Arkansas, Wilson carried 13 times for 100 yards to lead all players in the Bears hard-fought loss. He became the first MSU player in more than two years to rush for 100 yards in a game, last done by Jason Randall vs. Northern Arizona on Sept. 15, 2018.
Wilson also helped Missouri State set a blistering pace in the first half with 98 yards on 10 carries (9.8 yards per carry), including a nine-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter. In just the 10th career game for the Kansas City native, Wilson’s impact for the Bears was undeniable in establishing an offensive attack that racked up 176 ground yards on the night.
Wilson joins teammates Tylar Wiltz (Sept. 12 vs. Oklahoma) and Kevon Latulas (Sept. 26 vs. UCA) as previous performer of the week honorees by the MVFC this fall.
Missouri State, which wrapped its three-game fall slate on Saturday, will begin an eight-game MVFC schedule on Feb. 20 when the Bears travel to league newcomer North Dakota.
