he Royals were crushed at their home ballpark. Kansas City lost to the New York Yankees 10-1 in the second outing of a four-game series at Kauffman Stadium. Freddy Fermin scored the team’s lone run on a solo homer in the eighth inning. Starting pitcher Brady Singer was charged with the loss and dropped to 4-and-3 after allowing seven runs, six earned, through five-and-two-thirds innings. The Royals have lost three in a row to slip to 39-and-29. They host the Yankees again tonight.

(Kansas City, MO) — The Royals will be without a pair of players for the foreseeable future. Kansas City has placed outfielder Hunter Renfroe on the injured list due to a fractured toe and infielder Adam Frazier on the bereavement list. Renfroe is batting .200 with six home runs and 26 RBIs this season. He was injured when he fouled consecutive pitches off his left foot in Monday’s loss to the Yankees. The Royals recalled outfielder Drew Waters and infielder Nick Pratto from Triple-A Omaha.
