born to James Woodside and Charlene Coley on July 21st, 1963.
He is survived by his loving wife Paula Woodside, his children Jena Woodside, Christian Woodside and wife Bailey, Sarah Delaney and husband Dallas, Grandchildren Gabriel and Silas Woodside, Parents Sheila and Rondal Campbell and James Woodside, sisters Lesle Dial, Seana Towner, Teresa Freeman and Patty Woodside, brother Travis Woodside, and his 3 fur babies Gabby, Izzy and Necy.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene Coley.
Jim began his storied career in the US Army on March 6th, 1984. Which continued until his retirement as
1SG Woodside in August of 2004. During his career he received more awards than possible to list,
including 3 Bronze Stars, Meritorious Service medals, Army Achievement medals, and Airborne and Air
Assault Instructor ratings. During his time in the Army Jim served in Egypt, Korea, Iraq, and Kuwait. Jim
was a successful leader, who took pride in service to his country and community. Following his retirement, Jim began his second career as a Conductor on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway; he continued his legacy of educating and serving his community. Anyone who knew Jim had received a lesson on life, work, or service from him.
Jim spent his free time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved to explore new places with
his wife by his side. Jim enjoyed a political debate and would always have the most up to date news
ready to share. Many of his hours were spent working in his shop, most likely fixing something his kids
broke. Jim took pride in his roles as a husband, parent, grandparent, brother, mentor, veteran, and
advocate for his fellow brothers and sisters. He lived a life full of adventure, love, and service. He will
forever be remembered as a truly great man with a servants heart.
