According to Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 17-year-old Maryan Smith of Mansfield, was killed in a one-vehicle accident Saturday.
Smith’s vehicle suffered a tire blowout causing the vehicle to run off the roadway and overturned. Smith was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened at 3:30 p.m. Saturday on Highway 5, 6.5 miles north of Ava.
This is Troop G’s 20th fatality accident of 2020, compared to 14 at this time a year ago.
