West Plains, Mo – The Missouri Secretary of State, John “Jay” Ashcroft, talked with West Plains Middle School and South Fork Elementary 5th grade students about his job as the Secretary of State, the electoral process, and Missouri government. Mr. Ashcroft is Missouri’s 40th Secretary of State, elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2020. Also joining Secretary Ashcroft at the event was Missouri House of Representative David Evans, elected in 2018.
Each year, Secretary Ashcroft visits Missouri’s 114 counties and talks with many students across the state. Secretary Ashcroft spoke with the students about respect and the responsibility of being good citizens.
