Salem, Ark. – A Missouri man will be facing three decades behind bars for his part in the death of Davidlee Stansbury.
Travis Eugene Barker, 21 of Jefferson City, entered a guilty plea to the charge of 1st degree murder of Stansbury on July 25, 2022. Barker was the third person arrested in the murder investigation that began in April of 2021. Jacoby Auston Goehler and his mother, Jennifer Harnden, were also arrested in connection with the murder of Stansbury.
Goehler was the first person arrested for the murder of Davidlee Stansbury on April 25, 2021. Stansbury was reported missing after leaving his home with a friend on the night of the 23rd. The Fulton County Sheriff received information that Goehler had killed Stansbury and placed Goehler under arrest. The investigation led to 1st degree murder charges against himself and Barker, and conspiracy to commit murder charges against Harnden.
Barker told law enforcement in an interview that Goehler said he was planning to kill Stansbury for allegedly raping a member of his family. Barker and Goehler then led Stansbury to a wooded area and shot him three times, once in the hand and twice in the head.
Barker will spend 30 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction and will be given credit for his time served in incarceration since his arrest.
