West Plains, MO. – A West Plains woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the incident occurred at 2:55 p.m. on State Route 17 between County Roads 1500 and 1660.
A northbound Dodge 1500 driven by Daren Atkins, age 21 of West Plains traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking an embankment and a fence. The passenger, Bethany Counts, age 19, had not been wearing a seatbelt and suffered moderate injuries in the crash and was taken by private vehicle to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment.

The truck received minor damage and the driver was not reported as being injured.
