West Plains Arts Alliance Update w/ Terry Hampton, 7-11-23

West Plains, MO. – For those who love the Ozarks, there are several events going on in West Plains that will focus on local heritage and language. Terry Hampton with the West Plains Arts Alliance gives us a look into two events taking place at the Harlin Museum.

Both events will be features at the Harlin Museum. Saturday at 1pm, a professor from MSU West Plains, Dr. Brooks Blevins, will be giving a presentation of the language of the Ozarks. This will focus on the unique nature of the style of speak within the Ozarks and the influences and changes it has experienced over the years.

This presentation will also coincide with the Ozark Heritage display at the Museum, which features the one-of-a-kind L.L. Broadfoot painting collection.

Those who wish to immerse themselves in the history and culture of the Ozarks should stop by the Harlin Museum this weekend.

The Museum is located at 405 Worcester Street in West Plains.
