Woman Arrested After Stabbing Boyfriend With Broken Ceramic Bowl During Fight

West Plains, MO. – A West Plains woman was recently arrested with a charge of domestic disturbance – 2nd degree for stabbing her boyfriend with a broken ceramic bowl. 

On June 6, 2024, the West Plains Police Department was dispatched to a West Plains residence after receiving a call about a stabbing following a physical domestic dispute. Upon arrival at the scene, the victim told the officers that he was attempting to gather his belongings during a fight with his girlfriend, 28-year-old Jordan Owens, when she started assaulting him. He showed officers red marks from her slapping him and another on his jaw from a close-fisted punch. He then stated that she broke a ceramic bowl and proceeded to cut and stab him with a broken piece. The victim did admit to pushing Owens in self-defense.

The officers observed lacerations to his arm and one to his hip. They also observed a laceration on Owens, which was later to be found self-inflicted. During an interview with the woman, she stated that she did not remember stabbing or cutting her boyfriend but later said that she did remember wielding a piece of the ceramic bowl which could have caused injuries. 

Owens is being held on a $10,000 bond.
