Melissa Woodruff is being charged with Unlawful Receipt of Public Assistance Benefits and Stealing by Deceit according to information from official filing of the case on Howell County. According to the probable cause statement filed by John Paul McFarland from the Missouri Department of Social Services Woodruff received SNAP benefits totaling $19,544 from February 2022 to September 2024. The probable cause statement said that she intentionally made false claims about her household and income on five applications for SNAP benefits and two mid-certification review forms for SNAP benefits. Woodruff is accused of not reporting her husbands income nor self-employment income from their business.
